Dean Sangay Dorjee is appointed as the founding Dean, the Chief Executive Officer of the Law School in 2016 by the Honourable President. Dean Sangay also worked as the Project Director for the establishment of the Law School since 2013. 

He studied at Sherubtse College in Trashigang. He graduated from St. Stephen College, Delhi, India in BA. Arts (Honours) in History and completed a Masters (Master in Education) from the Victoria University of Manchester, Manchester, United Kingdom. 

He began his career as Trainer Officer and served as Assistant Administrative Officer with the Central Store Phuentsholing, Education Central Stores, Education Department for three years. He then served as the Assistant Secretary at Bhutan Board of Examination Division, Education Department, Ministry of Health and Education from 1990 to 2000 and transferred to Royal Bhutan Institute of Technology, National Technical Training Authority, Chhukha as Principal from 2000-2003. He was also the Programme Officer and Director of the Department of Occupational Standards, Ministry of Labour & Human Resources from 2003 to 2012.
