JSW Law Publications

To excel in research and innovation in legal and related fields, and to promote research culture both within and outside JSW Law, the JSW Law Publishing Series under the Research Center publishes journals, books and research reports.

The Journal of Gross National Happiness and Law

GNH & LAW is one of the regular and important publications of the law school. This journal exclusively discusses the relationship between Bhutan’s guiding principle of Gross National Happiness and Law. Through this publication, we aim to explore interrelationships or intersections between GNH and the law, more generally between happiness and the law. The publishing series already published the first volume of the Journal of Gross National Happiness and Law in 2021. The second volume will be published in February 2023.

JSW Law Review

The Publishing Series will launch the first issue of this Journal in November 2022. The Journal will publish a collection of articles (theme-based or more generally), and it is aimed at promoting interdisciplinary approach to legal research. The Journal is a general law review, and is not strict to publication relating to the particular or specialized field of law. The first issue of the JSW Law Review will be published as a special issue on Public Contracts in November 2022.

Student Law Journal (SLJ)

This will be a student peer-reviewed law journal written and edited by the students guided by faculty members or external guest editors. This journal is aimed at encouraging, fostering and promoting legal scholarship among the law school’s students and other students interested in conducting research on law and related fields. The first issues of SLJ will be published in November 2022.

JSW Law Textbooks

There are no or hardly any books published on Bhutanese laws and related subjects. Therefore, JSW Law took the bold step to write textbooks on Bhutanese laws and allied subjects. It has already launched some titles, and many are scheduled for launch by the end of 2022.
