Biography
Ugyen Wangdi is the Assistant Dean of the Office of Professional Engagement and Continuing Education at the JSW School of Law. Prior to joining the school, he served as a Prosecutor for 9 years from 2011 to 2019 and as an advisor to the Government from 2021 until February 2025. He resigned from his role as Chief Attorney of the Legal Service Division to join the JSW School of Law, effective 1st March 2025. Ugyen will head the Wisdom Centre for Justice (WCJ), which acts as the secretariat to the 11 Justice sectors in Bhutan. As the head of the WCJ, a Centre under the Office of PEACE, he is responsible for overseeing, supporting, and facilitating the mandates related to cross-sectoral justice issues and programs.
Ugyen received his Master of Laws from University of Canberra in Australia, Bachelor of Law and Arts (BA.LLB) from NALSAR University of Law in India, and Post Graduate Diploma in National Law (PGDNL) from Royal Institute of Management, Bhutan.
