Ugyen Tshomo

Junior Lecturer

Biography

Ugyen Tshomo is a Bar-certified lawyer and Junior Lecturer at the Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law. She teaches Administrative Law and Lawyers’ Professional Responsibility and Ethics, and is engaged in curriculum development and legal education with a focus on justice reform and human rights-based approaches.She holds an LL.B. and Postgraduate Diploma in National Law from the Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law. In her current role, she contributes to institutional and national justice initiatives through the Wisdom Centre of Justice, which serves as a secretariat to multiple justice sector institutions in Bhutan.Her research experience includes work on Bhutanese oral legal history in collaboration with the University of Vienna, as well as publication in the JSW Law Review on international humanitarian law and ethical dimensions of humanitarian intervention.
