Access to Justice for Persons with disabilities

As a part of the “Access to Justice for Persons with Disabilities” project under the Justice Sector Programme (JSP) funded by the Austrian Development Agency, the Human Dignity Clinic (HDC), with support from the project implementing team of JSW School of Law is organizing and facilitating a two-day consultative workshop at Drubchhu Resort in Lobesa, Punakha.

The workshop will primarily focus on discussing the legal provisions of relevant laws in relation to access to justice and reviewing the many barriers that PWDs experience in accessing justice. The goal of the workshop is to develop a toolkit for Persons with Disabilities in accessing justice. Participants include Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), representatives from Disabled Persons Organization, Draktsho, Wangsel Institute, Ability Bhutan Society, and Nazhoen Lamtoen. Relevant officials from the Judiciary, Royal Bhutan Police, Office of Attorney General, and Gross National Happiness Commission are also attending the workshop.
