JSW Law Alumni Association Launches “Initiatives 2024” to Foster Engagement and Development

United under the visionary principles of Justice, Service, and Wisdom, the JSW Law Alumni Association launched formal membership and the “Initiatives 2024.” The event was attended by the graduates of the Class of 2022 and 2023.

The JSW Law Alumni Association Initiatives 2024 is a series of events and programs throughout the year designed to engage the association network and contribute to the overall vision and development of the law school.

The Initiatives 2024 include:

1. JSW Law Alumni Association Career Panel: An interactive panel discussion(s) featuring graduates from different employment agencies and professional backgrounds for current students at the law school.

2. JSW Law Alumni Association Fellowship: A fellowship that will fully support a final-year student’s externship program. After the launch on the 11th, ongoing fundraising and other arrangements will take place, and the fellowship will be granted in future.

3. JSW Law Alumni Association Mentorship: An interested pool of graduates will be matched with current students in a mentorship program, providing support in academic areas (especially research guidance) and professional development (internships and other related engagements).

4. JSW Law Alumni Association Conclave: Exclusive monthly dialogue and workshops related to law, the legal profession, and policy, facilitated by both graduates and eminent speakers/practitioners.

The JSW Law Alumni Association was established on the 5th of August 2023, coinciding with the Birth Anniversary of The Honourable President, Her Royal Highness Princess Sonam Dechan Wangchuck. Its establishment is driven by the aspiration to uphold the Law School’s core values of Justice, Service, and Wisdom, while also nurturing camaraderie among its alumni and enhancing ties with the alma mater.
