Through a special project on “Climate Change Law and Policy,” JSW Law aims to leverage Bhutan’s unique role as one of the carbon negative countries in the world to make a meaningful impact on the emerging field of Climate Justice.  Undertaken in collaboration with public and private sectors, and civil society organizations, this project will advance and advocate Climate Change and Environment laws, policies and strategies to educate and inform our communities through the following key interventions: 

  • Review and Propose reforms/changes to the national climate change policies, strategies and legislations based on emerging science and local needs;
  • Launch a Local and Regional Networks to improve coordination and share legal and strategic best practices in the field of Climate change Adaptation and Mitigation measures; and
  • Support human capacity development of all stakeholders including local leaders, politicians and decision makers through well-informed participatory discourses.
